Chemical production at the Leek site begins

The site is acquired by Courtaulds – a world leader in the manufacturer of fabric, clothing, artificial fibres and chemicals.

1987

Start of Aroma Chemicals manufacturing

1989

Courtaulds demerger: textiles no longer made on the site

1998

Akzo Nobel acquires Courtaulds

1999

Acordis formed from AKZO/Courtaulds assets

2001

Leek site is acquired by Belgian-based Tessenderlo Group

2011

Tessenderlo Fine Chemicals is sold to the chemicals manufacturing and distribution group, Tennants Consolidated

2021

Eternis Fine Chemicals acquires 100% shareholding of Tennants Fine Chemicals Ltd.
